Highgate Management managed the delivery of construction projects under the University of Technology’s Master Plan from 2010 to 2015 including the $240M new Broadway Building for the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
Highgate Director, Michael Jessett, comments:
“The new UTS Broadway Building is a stunning addition to a rapidly changing campus for UTS, and revitalised western gateway to Sydney’s CBD. This is a major milestone, not only for the Campus Master Plan but for Sydney.”
“Highgate is delighted to be managing construction projects of the $1 billion redevelopment of UTS’s city campus – the largest overhaul of the campus ever attempted.”
The new building opened for teaching at the end of July 2014, when up to 5,000 students and staff experienced for the first time the multi-million dollar facility, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, public spaces and research spaces with a light-filled atrium and the latest in cutting-edge and sustainable technology, all designed specifically to house the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
A new 3D data visualisation arena is one of the key draw cards of the new building which also features a wind turbine, water recycling and solar panel technology.
The Broadway Building is being submitted for design awards in 2016 by the Architect Denton Corker Marshall. It will be a strong contender.
