Ryde Ambulance Locations Report

Ryde Ambulance Alternative Locations Options Report, NSW

Assignment not undertaken by Highgate but by the Highgate individual nominated below.

Role: Michael Jessett prepared a report for NSW Health to determine whether there was another location on the Ryde Hospital campus that would be more suitable for the siting of an ambulance station other than the proposed location on the Corner of Denistone Road and Florence Avenue, Eastwood.

Alternative siting options were considered including the requirements of the proposed new station in relation to access, size, operation, functionality and cost, based on the building areas currently documented for the DA.

Scope and Tasks – The key tasks were:

Task 1 – Site assessment of all potential siting options for the proposed new facility within the Ryde Hospital campus.

Conduct a detailed assessment of potential siting options within the Ryde Hospital campus.

Provide a detailed report on the benefits and constraints of each site, including planning, environmental, social, cost issues and any impacts on the Hospital, Child Care and adjacent land owner activities and operations, and

Make recommendations in relation to the preferred siting for the new ambulance facility within the Hospital campus.

Task 2 – Advice on other implications

Overall risk assessment for the preferred site (qualitative assessment only).

This report documented the benefits, constraints and risks of siting options for the new ambulance facility within the Ryde Hospital campus.
